The four-engine IL-62 was the first long-haul plane in LOT's fleet, having entered service in 1972, the last being retired in 1993. Inaugural flight took off from Warsaw to Toronto and Montreal in May 1972. This IL-62 of the heavily modernized M-version is named in honor of Wladyslaw Sikorski, the highly-reputed military and also political leader. As all IL-62 models in 1/200, this release includes the removable support wheel which was necessary to stabilize the tail-heavy IL-62 during loading and unloading on the ground.
